NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS BY SPLINE FUNCTIONS (SPLINDIF).

Abstract

A computer subroutine package, SPLINDIF, which implements a new method for obtaining global approximations to solutions of systems of non-linear first order differential equations with given initial values is described. The numerical solutions are spline functions of degree 2q with q continuous derivatives. The method is a one-step predictor-corrector scheme based on Hermite's quadrature formula of 1878. The package consists of subroutines written in FORTRAN-63 for the CDC 1604 computer. This package uses TAYLOR, which is written in FORTRAN-63 and CODAP Assembly Language. (Author)
