ASYMPTOTICS OF THE WAKE OF A BODY MOVING IN RAREFIED PLASMA,

Abstract

At present there is interest in investigation of the structure of the trace formed behind a body moving in a plasma. The finding of perturbations of electron and ionic concentration in plasma leads to solution of a system of disordered kinetic equations for the distribution function of charged particles and Poisson's equation for self-consistent potential. An important parameter of this problem is also the Debye radius, i.e. the distance over which the field of a point charge is chielded. Solution of the problem in the common form is very difficult since the system of equations describing perturbation is multi-dimensional and essentially nonlinear. This work gives a more detailed investigation of the structure of the trace in the distant zone. (Author)
