AVIATION ANTI-FRICTION BEARINGS,

Abstract

The authors generalize on experience in the design and operation of roller-contact bearings used in aircraft structures. Designs and basic characteristics of bearings, methods for their lubrication and cooling, and various factors effecting the efficiency of bearings are analyzed, as well as designs of individual units with bearings. Methods of calculation of bearings are given; the recommended methods for investigation of typical defects and fractures, as well as the order of damage detection in overhauling are described. The necessary reference data on bearings and various instructional data are given. (Author)
