Abstract
In an effort to obtain an estimate of the validity and reliability of the data processed by an IBM 1230 optical scanner, control data was processed and checked against a set of master cards. Source documents were marked in three different ways - 2H pencil, 3H pencil, and ball point pen. (Author)
