RADIO INTERFERENCE MEASURING SET AN/URM-100 (XE-1).
Abstract
Radio Interference Measuring Set AN/URM-100(XE-1) uses low-noise traveling wave tube amplifiers and electronically tuned yttrium-iron garnet preselection filters. Operating over the 1 through 12 GHz range, it is possible to scan up to 5,000 bandwidths (0.1, 1, or 10 MHz each) per second. Four balanced mixers, in the 1-2, 2-4, 4-8, and 8-12 GHz ranges feed the 160-MHz first IF. The 2nd IF includes both 3 parallel 60-MHz amplifiers, having the same gain-bandwidth product, and log and linear amplifiers. Built-in programming uses a 2,000 word memory to store 1,500 frequencies and their associated signal levels. Peak, average, and slideback potentials can be metered, externally exhibited on scope or XY plot, or printed out. Manual and push-button (built-in program) control is possible. Multi-sweep averaging and automatic addition of calibration factors is available. (Author)
