IMPLANTATION OF ECG ELECTRODES, EEG ELECTRODES AND TEMPERATURE THERMISTORS IN THE MONKEY (MACACA MULATTA)

Abstract

Methods and procedures of bioinstrumentation for the long-term monitoring of the electrocardiogram, body temperature, and the electroencephalogram are discussed. These techniques were designed specifically to facilitate psychophysiological investigation of preirradiated and postirradiated monkeys. The instrumentation herein described has performed satisfactorily throughout an exposure to a gamma-neutron radiation pulse of 5000 rads with no appreciable decrement.
