A STUDY OF RANDOM NETWORK MODELS.

Abstract

A second 300-unit tetrahedral network (Model II) has been constructed with an 18-unit nucleus selected from the earlier structure (Model I) so as to avoid the development of the regular structure of dodecahedral cages that formed a considerable part of Model I. The topological and geometrical statistics are similar to those of Model I, indicating that it should give a calculated radial distribution similarly close to that found by neutron diffraction for vitreous silica.
