COHERENT AMPLIFICATION OF RADIO EMISSION IN THE COSMIC MEDIUM (KOGERENTNOE USILENIE RADIOIZLUCHENIYA V KOSMICHESKOI SREDE),

Abstract

In hydrogen atoms located in an oriented flux of nonpolarized ultraviolet radiation with a continuous spectrum in the 1216-912A region, an inversion occurs in the population of the hyperfine structure levels of the ground state 1 sub S 1/2. The foregoing provides grounds for believing that coherent amplification of radiation is a widespread phenomenon in the universe. (Author)
