TWO-CONFIGURATION APPROXIMATION FOR THE CALCIUM ATOM (DVUKHKONFIGURATSIONNOE PRIBLIZHENIE V SLUCHAE ATOMA KALTSIYA),

Abstract

The Fock equation in the two-configuration approximation is solved with the 4p radial orbital of the calcium atom in the correction configuration of the approximation 4s(2)-4p(2). The energy value of the 4s(2) shell is determined in the indicated two-configuration approximation. The ionization potential of the neutral atom is presented. Thoeretical results are compared with experimental data. Transition theory quantities are also determined in the two-configuration approximation. (Author)
