Abstract

Solutions to the equations of the Hartree self-consistent field are given for the configuration 1s(2)2s(2)2p3s of carbon. With these solutions, the two-configuration approximation 1s(2)2s(2)2p3s-1s(2)2p(3)3s is applied to the first of these configurations. The resulting theoretical energy values are compared to the experimental data. (Author)
