DERIVATION OF SIGNAL-LEVEL CONSTRAINTS FOR A DIGITAL CIRCUIT.

Abstract

Generalized expressions of constraints on the signal levels of a digital circuit are derived. These constraints are expressed in terms of expected noise and element tolerances. A simplification of these constraints is provided based on the theory of envelopes. It is then demonstrated how these constraints can be transformed into constraints on the nominal circuit variables.
