DEVELOPMENT OF A SUPERSONIC NOZZLE MOLECULAR BEAM FACILITY,

Abstract

A supersonic nozzle molecular beam facility was developed and operated. Design, fabrication and operation of the major components of the vacuum system are described. Several of the important experimental components to be used in beam experiments are also described. Selected performance results are presented which indicate that the system is operating correctly and that beam characteristics are the same as those obtained in other laboratories. (Author)
