Abstract

Automatic frame scan control (AFSC) prevents pairing of lines, a frequent and undesirable phenomenon, which reduces vertical sharpness of definition and creates a flicker tiring to the viewer. AFSC also eliminates pulling and jumping of the frame. A circuit designed by the author to include AFSC is included and described in detail. The author suggests a method to improved interlacing stability by changing the integrating network in such a manner that suppression of line sync pulses and the shaping of frame sync pulses are separated. A schematic for such a circuit is given. (Author)
