FABRICATION OF DIELECTRIC SWITCH ELEMENTS.

Abstract

The report describes the steps to be taken in the fabrication of switch elements for a solid-dielectric low-inductance switch which can be used in high-energy discharge circuits. The elements are used in a type of switch having an inductance of 1 x 10 to the minus 9th power H, current carrying capability of 1000,000, and switch delay time of from 0.1 to 0.0000003 sec. Switches of this kind have been used at 15 kV and higher, with a low-inductance capacitor bank. (Author)
