MATCHED SPATIAL FILTERING.

Abstract

Several experimental studies were made on the feasibility of the Vander Lugt technique of pattern recognition by matched spatial filtering of coherent light. Pseudo-random code signals were used. Variables included exposure time of matched filter, ratio of signal beam to reference beam, and bandwidth of matched filter. Strong correlations were obtained, but the system was found limited because of its use of photographic film. (Author)
