A REVIEW OF WORLD CONTRIBUTIONS FROM 1945 TO 1965 TO THE THEORY OF ACOUSTIC RADIATION. CHAPTER IV: MULTIPLE ANALYSIS AND RADIATION FROM SURFACES OF LARGE RADIUS OF CURVATURE.

Abstract

The report constitutes a first draft of Chapter IV of a treatise on recent advances in the theory of acoustic radiation from volume and surface distributed sources. It reviews in detail post 1945 papers on multipole analysis of radiation, Green's functions and their relation to acoustic multipoles, radiation from pistons, strips and zones on baffles of very large size, and creeping waves in the steady state and transient scattering from spheres and cylinders.
