ON FINDING IXODES ARBORICOLA P. SCH. AND SCHL. IN BIRDS' NESTS,

Abstract

Thirteen ticks (Ixodes arboricola--5 female, 3 male, and 5 nymphs) were found in 5 starling nests located in artificial nestings on the territory of the Bielorussian SSR in May-July 1963-1964. I. arboricola are brought to the territory of the Bielorussia by the starlings arriving after hibernation from the West and South-West, from countries where this tick species is rather widely distributed.
