ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE TEMPERATURE AT 50 CM,

Abstract

The report investigates the Noise Temperature of a 5 ft parabolic antennas as a function of elevation and azimuth angles, at a wavelength of 50 cm. The vertical polar diagram of the aerial is also determined such that the relationship of the ratio of aerial gain and noise temperature to elevation angle could be calculated, with a view to the possibility of operating 'line-of-sight' communication antennae at elevation angles greater than zero and giving enhanced system performance.
