SOME SIMILARITY TRANSFORMATIONS IN MAGNETOGASDYNAMICS,

Abstract

In order to get similarity solutions of some problems of magnetogasdynamics the mechanism of similarity transformations is applied to the corresponding equations. Five cases are treated: three two-dimensional boundary layer theory cases (1) magnetic field perpendicular to the flow, unsteady case, (2) the same, but steady, (3) the steady problem with arbitrary magnetic field; a three-dimensional boundary layer problem, also with arbitrary magnetic field; and, without boundary layer approximation, the general three-dimensional unsteady MGD-equations.
