NUMERICAL STUDIES IN GAS DYNAMICS.

Abstract

A Monte Carlo computer simulation method was applied to the following problems: (1) The formation of shock waves ahead of a specularly reflecting piston, and the reflection of these shock waves from a specularly reflecting wall. (2) The effect of molecular model on shock wave structure. (3) The use of computer display facilities for the visualization of steady supersonic flows in a highly rarefied gas. (4) One-dimensional heat conduction between parallel plates. (Author)
