A REVERBERATION INTENSITY COMPENSATOR USING TIME-VARYING GAIN,

Abstract

The paper describes the design and construction of a reverberation intensity compensator using time-varying gain. The reverberation level for underwater explosive acoustic sources is found to decay at a rate of approximately -30 log t. This paper describes an amplifier whose gain increases as a known function of time thus compensating for the decay in reverberation and making analysis of reverberation data more tractable. (Author)
