VARIABLE OPERATING AND SAFETY LEVEL (VOSL) ANALYZER OPERATING MANUAL,

Abstract

Intuition based on experience has for many years been the main guideline for the manager in establishing policy. Currently, the inventory manager operates a complex system containing a number of interacting variables which must be properly adjusted to reflect his policies and yet remain within the constraints placed by higher authority. Mistaken judgments become evident after the fact unless the manager has some means of analyzing his policies as applied to his inventory. This manual describes a computer analyzer designed to provide him with pertinent statistics for comparing alternative management policies. It provides insight with less risk. (Author)
