REFURBISHMENT, TEST, INTEGRATION AND FIELD SUPPORT OF SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS FOR THE OV1-13 SATELLITE.

Abstract

The work performed included the refurbishment and calibration of two instrument sets previously fabricated. It also included the design and fabrication of three signal conditioners and the subsequent integration of the instruments into the OVI-13 spacecraft which is providing data on the energy spectra and angular distributions of trapped electrons in the magnetosphere, over a wide energy and dynamic range. The instruments refurbished and calibrated consisted of two flight space DC/DC converters, two each of an electrostatic analyzer (ESA), magnetic analyzer (e-MA), scintillation spectrometer (e-S), solid state spectrometers (p-SS1 and p-SS2), range-energy spectrometer (p-RE), geiger counter (GC) and programmable high voltage supply (PHVS). Handbooks of alignment and calibration data were prepared and submitted with the delivery of the instruments. (Author)
