VISIBLE DISPLAYS OF MILLIMETER WAVE RADIATION FROM REFLECTING TARGETS.

Abstract

An extension of work on converting mm wave images into visible displays is reported. Three improved factors are noted. (1) Imaging has been carried out with reflecting targets. This is relevant to almost all applications in which the image conversion device is applicable. (2) The thickness of the semiconductor modulating panel which is the key element in the imaging process has been optimized. (3) Using a multiple collector system, the angle of view has been increased to 12 degrees as compared with the single horn collector system, which had an angle of view of only 6 degrees. (Author)
