ULTRASONIC IMAGE CONVERSION SYSTEMS INVESTIGATION.

Abstract

The effort was directed toward the study of the application of variable focal length acoustic lens devices in conjunction with an ultrasonic conversion system for minimization of operator interpretation problems. This led to the development of a practical electron-beam scanning system capable of providing video presentations of inhomogeneities in materials. The study produced results which indicate that these techniques materially enhance video presentations and hence operator interpretation of these presentations. (Author)
