AIR FORCE RESEARCH OBJECTIVES, 1968.

Abstract

The Office of Aerospace Research (OAR), as the prime research agency of the United States Air Force, conducts research within its own laboratories and, through its grants and contracts program, sponsors scientific research among the leading scientists of the free world. This latter research is encouraged in areas of Air Force interest. This publication is intended to stimulate researchers in free-world colleges, universities, and nonprofit and industrial organizations to participate in the Air Force research program. By delineating the various facets of the four major divisions (Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and Life Sciences) of the Defense Research Sciences, and by describing in detail the specific fields where additional research is required, OAR hopes to encourage outstanding members of the free-world scientific community to play a part in fulfilling Air Force research needs.
