Abstract

The document is comprised of the introduction to the book named above. Consideration is given to the general contemporary status of electron microscopy which is felt to be now in its final stage of development. Tables of basic characteristics of Soviet and foreign electron microscopes are included. Soviet models UEMB-100 and EM-5 are described in more detail. A recommendation is made for further mastery of techniques.
