ON TWO KINDS OF DIFFERENCE METHODS FOR THE BENDING PROBLEM OF RECTANGULAR CANTILEVER PLATES,

Abstract

The paper discusses two kinds of iterative methods which can be used in practice to solve the difference equations corresponding to the bending problem of rectangular contilever plates. One of them is a variant of the two line successive overrelaxation method, and the other is an alternating direction implicit method. The numerical results of an example are presented to demonstrate the applicability and efficiency of these methods. (Author)
