EVALUATION OF ANTI STATIC COATINGS FOR POLYSTYRENE CONTAINERS,

Abstract

The technique for preventing static charge buildup on the surfaces of polystyrene containers has not been completely satisfactory. Problems in formulation and stability of the antistatic solution have continually been mentioned by the manufacturers of the polystyrene containers. In the work described in this report a new improved formulation as an antistatic coating for polystyrene containers was shown to be much more satisfactory than the one presently being used. It has, therefore, been recommended in the revised drawing for all new contracts for the manufacture of polystyrene containers. (Author)
