MEASUREMENT OF THE 'NEUTRAL-K(L) TO GAMMA GAMMA' BRANCHING RATIO.

Abstract

A measurement of the branching ratio (neutral-K(L) to gamma gamma)/(neutral-K(L) to 3 pions) was made with a spark chamber gamma ray spectrometer and it is compared with theoretical predictions. From this measurement and from the published branching ratio of (neutral-K(L) to 3 pions)/(neutral-K(L) to all), the branching ratio of (neutral-K(L) to gamma gamma)/neutral-K(L) to all) was found to be (5.5 plus or minus 1.1) x 0.0001.
