PROGRAM LIBRARY FOR THE 103 ELECTRONIC COMPUTER (SELECTED ARTICLES).

Abstract

The book treats principally of the standard subroutines and programs available for the 103 electronic digital computer which is patterned after the Russian-built M-3 small electronic digital computer. This is a revised edition of the original publication which appeared in June 1961. Subroutines are provided for the solution of sin x and cos x, arc sin x, tg x, arc tg x, 1/e squared, 1n x, square root of x, decimal-to-binary-to-decimal conversion, sh x, and ch x. Standard programs are provided for solving the more common of the classical mathematical problems such as the Runge-Kutta method for solving ordinary differential equations, Simpson's differentiation method, etc. A few of the service routines are introduced, together with a program library for the 103 digital computer. The use of floating-point operations in the 103 digital computer is mentioned, and a floating-point program library, with associated subroutines, is detailed therein. The appendix contains a brief introduction to the 103 digital computer, instruction format, and a table showing the contents of registers at machine halts.
