EFFECT OF MIL-C-6799, TYPE II, SPRAYABLE, STRIPPABLE, PROTECTIVE COATINGS ON PAINTED SUBSTRATES,

Abstract

Strippable, sprayable, protective coating systems conforming to the Type II requirements of MIL-C-6799 were applied over test panels coated with paint systems currently used on Naval aircraft. The coated panels were exposed for 30 days to (1) a controlled temperature environment of 73F and 50% R.H. and (2) an outdoor exposure in the Philadelphia area. Upon termination of these exposures, the MIL-C-6799, Type II coatings were easily stripped with no adverse effect to the painted substrates. (Author)
