Abstract

The First Internation Conference on Laser Applications resulted in the presentation of work covering very wide and diverse subjects, including medical applications. Some of the highlights reviewed in this report deal with mechanical alignment including shop practive, air to ground range finding, testing of materials, study of shock fronts and correcting tumor sites on eye retinas. A promising application presented is welding of oxidizing metals in air. (Author)
