EVALUATION OF THE PHYSICAL TRAINING PLATOON, OFFICER CANDIDATE SCHOOL, QUANTICO, VA.

Abstract

Forty-one men of unacceptably low physical performance ability were given four weeks training in the Physical Training Platoon (PTP) before being assigned to Officer Candidate School (OCS). Thirty-nine men completed the PTP program. Of these, 36 were assigned to OCS Class No. 50. Twenty-one of them successfully completed OCS. Data on the three assigned to a later class were not available at the time of writing. Statistical analysis of the test items raised certain questions regarding their suitability for the test battery. (Author)
