ADVANCED OXIDIZER CHEMISTRY.
Abstract
Perfluoropropene and O2F2 reacted at -183C in chlorotrifluoromethane to give two new compounds, perfluoro-i-propyl fluoroperoxide, (CF2)2CFOOF and perfluoro-n-propyl fluoroperoxide CF3CF2CF2OOF. The primary reaction of both O2F2 and and O4F2 with SO2 are similar; that is, simple fluorination results, however, O4F2 appears to be a much better source of OOF than O2F2. The structure and properties of O2ClF3 are being studied. The mechanism of the reaction of COF2 and OF2 to give CF3OOOCF3 is being studied by means of oxygen-17 tracer techniques. (Author)
