OMEGA-SYSTEM SYNCHRONIZATION IN THE ABSOLUTE MODE OF OPERATION.

Abstract

Maintenance of station synchronization is of primary importance to the successful operation of the Omega navigation system. This report appraises several methods of synchronizing stations operating in the absolute mode, in which individual stations are not slaved to a master clock but rely mainly on clocks of their own. It recommends a method using a central computing facility and distributed station monitors. (Author)
