CLIMATOLOGICAL ESTIMATES OF CLOCK-HOUR RAINFALL RATES.

Abstract

The report expounds on an empirical method for estimating the clock-hour rainfall rates at a station when the mean annual rainfall amount and mean annual number of days with measurable rainfall are known. A climatic weighting factor is introduced in the calculations employing the use of Thornthwaite's 'moisture index.' Nomograms for estimating the clock-hour rainfall rates for temperate regions and also for tropic regions are included in the report. (Author)
