SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF ALKAROMATIC CHLOROCARBONS.

Abstract

The study of the alkaromatic chlorocarbons initiated some years ago was continued. New syntheses of highly strained, overcrowded chlorocarbons were performed. In total, fifteen new reactions were found. A new class of substances was discovered: the Inert Free Radicals. Also, stable alpha-chlorocarbanion salts and other chlorinated carbanions were prepared for the first time. A total of seventy-three new highly chlorinated and perchlorinated substances is reported, including twelve carbon free radicals. (Author)
