DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF SOIL BEARING CAPACITY FOUNDATIONS OF STRUCTURES. FIELD VIBRATORY TESTS DATA.

Abstract

Field tests were conducted at the WES and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., on two different soil types for the purpose of obtaining data to develop a means of evaluating foundations composed of highly compacted soils and subjected to dynamic loads. The specific purpose was to determine the effect of load contact area and static contact pressure on the elastic properties of foundations as determined by means of small-scale vibratory tests.
