THE EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL STUDY OF BURIED CYLINDERS UNDER DYNAMIC LOADING.

Abstract

A list of the problems related to buried and submerged cylinders that are solved in the literature is given. This includes both rigid and flexible cylinders and both acoustical fluid and elastic solid surrounding media. The works of Baron and Yoshihara, in particular, are discussed at some length but only graphical data is cited due to the complex nature of the solutions. Using this data, an experimental program for the blast load generator is presented. Also included is a brief discussion of the methods of numerical integration of a function when a response to a step function is given. (Author)
