ADAPTIVE PATTERN RECOGNITION IN GENERAL SYSTEMS THEORY,

Abstract

The objectives of this document are to set forth general definitions of adaptation and pattern recognition, to test these definitions in a specific practical situation; namely adaptive pattern recognition, and to consider some significant implications of these definitions with regard to the design of adaptive systems. All of this work is done in a General Systems Theory framework which is mathematical and, in particular, set-theoretical in nature. (Author)
