INVESTIGATION OF ENERGY SPECTRA OF A CONICAL ELECTRODE SOURCE OF PLASMA (ISSLEDOVANIE ENERGETICHESKIKH SPEKTROV KONICHESKOGO ELEKTRODNOGO ISTOCHNIKA PLAZMY),

Abstract

An analysis of the plasmoids formed in a conical source was carried out with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. The microstructure of the plasmoids and the distribution of ions of different masses with respect to energy were studied in small areas of the clots. The mechanism for the acceleration of the particles is different for energies < or = 150 ev. and > or = 500 ev. In the latter case (the formation of fast protons) the formation of the fast particles may take place in the spark. (Author)
