ANALYSIS OF THE PURE ROTATIONAL ABSORPTION SPECTRA OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE AND DEUTERIUM SULFIDE.

Abstract

The far infrared spectra of H2S, D2S and H2S-D2S mixtures at low pressures were obtained under high resolution. The analysis of H2S in the pure rotation region has shown that the rotational and distortion parameters established from the vibration-rotation measurements by Edwards are appropriate to account for the observed spectrum. For D2S, comparison of the observed and theoretical spectra suggests that the previously established parameters should be modified slightly. New values for the rotational and distortion parameters for D2S have been derived from far-infrared and microwave information by the combination-difference method. (Author)
