BACTERIOLOGY OF HUMAN SMALL BOWEL IN 'BLIND-LOOP SYNDROME'.

Abstract

The bacterial flora of the small intestine has been studied in 8 patients with various diseases involving the small bowel. Abnormally high bacterial counts in upper small intestine were found in all. The organisms encountered, the numbers of each organism and the associated clinical and laboratory abnormalities seen in these patients are described in the enclosed report. (Author)
