INFLUENCE OF THE SOVIET MILITARY DOCTRINE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF MILITARY ART (VLIYANIE SOVETSKOI VOENNOI DOKTRINY NA RAZVITIE VOENNOGO ISKUSSTVA),

Abstract

The Soviet Armed Forces have been revised to meet the threat of conventional war or nuclear war anywhere in the Socialist camp. The role of the Strategic Rocket Forces and the naval rocket carriers are more important for a possibility of nuclear war. Air defense and the possibility of land troops in contaminated areas are discussed. All Communist Party organizations must continue to instill loyalty in their members, particularly soldiers. In past wars where land armies were mainly involved, a commander could, within a reasonable short time, rectify a mistake, or a superior commander could do it. But in a nuclear war where entire divisions could lose their combat capability the commander must be able to handle the situation with absolute precision. The Soviet Armed Forces are all well prepared for this, since the Party makes the war policy of keeping the Armed Forces up to date. (Author)
