LARGE DEFORMATION SOLUTIONS FOR AN ELASTIC COSSERAT SURFACE.

Abstract

A discussion is given of a class of static and dynamic solutions for finite isothermal deformation of an elastic Cosserat surface. The constitutive equations used are those for a Cosserat surface with holohedral isotropy. In all cases considered, the displacement gradients and the director displacements are assumed to be independent of surface coordinates. The solutions mainly concern problems associated with cylindrical and spherical surfaces. (Author)
