ON THE PROBLEM OF QUANTUM INTERFERENCE.

Abstract

An approach is developed for the quantum interference problem that makes the characteristics of the problem more conspicuous and brings out the physical concepts which are adequate for its description. The idea of deterministic quantum experiments is introduced, and a deterministic quantum interference experiment is described. It is shown that the variables that are relevant for describing quantum interference are of the type cos(pl/h bar). The usefulness of these variables in the quantum theory of radiation is outlined.
