ROCKET IR HORIZON DATA.

Abstract

7 - 30 MICRON EMISSION SPECTRA OF THE EARTH AND ATMOSPHERE NEAR THE GEOMETRIC HORIZON HAVE BEEN OBTAINED WITH A ROCKET-BORNE TELESCOPE/INTERFEROMETER. The CO2 (15 micron) and the ozone (9.7 micron) bands are observed in absorption when viewing the earth. The CO2 band is also seen in emission when the field-of-view grazes the earth. (Author)
