SIMILARITY SOLUTIONS FOR TWO-DIMENSIONAL STEADY VISCOUS MGD BOUNDARY LAYERS,

Abstract

The purpose of the report is to solve the equations for steady two-dimensional MGD-flows (i) in boundary layer approximation, (ii) without approximation. A magnetic field B perpendicular to the flow plane and constant but arbitrary viscosity, electrical and heat conductivity are assumed. First, all equations are written in a form free of parameters and then similarity transformations are applied. Via the transformed continuity equation, the new equations can be simplified for channel flows. If this similarity solutions enclose incompressible flows, the solution for the velocity is, for boundary layer approximation, given in a closed form. (Author)
