OPTIMIZATION STUDY OF AN ELECTRICAL METHOD FOR THE RAPID THAWING OF FROZEN BLOOD.
Abstract
The study attempts theoretically to formulate the requirements for an apparatus which rapidly and efficiently thaws frozen human blood in appreciable quantities. It is based on recent research results as well as on previous theoretical and experimental results. Since the scheme for thawing must be compatible to that for freezing, an introductory discussion of freezing methods derives an optimum geometry for freezing. This geometry is then used as a basis for the theoretical development of the electrical heating method proposed, capacitive coupling at low radio frequencies. (Author)
